Our Nought to Five memory book was designed to tell a story... from the beginning. Everyone is different so this book is used as a guide and can be filled out as you see fit.
The story can be told by more than one person. When filling in the book tell the baby why you are doing this, why you love them and what you enjoy at each stage and age. When they look back at this book they will thank you for celebrating their life. Don’t worry about perfect english or penmanship, just write from the heart.
Remember to include the highs and lows. This is a story and every good story has both. Collect things along the way too; photo’s, notes, drawings, letters and memories.
Advice from Us
Use a nice felt tip or rollerball pen to fill in the pages. Ball point pens will leave indentations on the page.
The Family Tree
We know families can be complicated sometimes so this page can change to suit your situation. Draw lines in to connect them to the right people.
Leave the Book Out
Remember to leave the book out so it reminds you to fill it in. If it’s tucked away on the bookshelf, you will forget to write in it.
These will change over time, something that was cherished at 8 months old may fall out of favour by the time the child is two. Include favourite things like: toys, songs, games, friends, books, foods, pets and tv shows.
Thoughts and Memories
Write them all down, good and bad. You will have a giggle at these in the years to come!
When to fill it in?
Our book is divided up into 3-monthly sections in the first year. This isn't too overwhelming and you are more likely to continue filling in the book. Once baby turns one it becomes a yearly event.
Finally, our advice is to enjoy it and not over think the process which leads to complaining that it is another task you have to complete. Take advantage of the quiet time you have to reminisce about all of those special moments because time does fly by and before you know it your little bundle of joy is off to school. Know that these memories and milestones that you are writing down now will be cherished by you and your baby for years to come.
