Yes, those milestone birthdays... some people love them, some hate them. I had one this year, I turned 40, and it was great! Either way you do seem to analyse your life so far, the good times and the bad. You measure up the goals you had set for that particular time and see if you have met them. It is definitely a time you look back over your life so far.
For my Dad's 60th birthday, about 5 years ago, I did a Milestone Birthday Book for him. It was my first one! He always said how quick time flys, so the theme for the book was speed, 0-60 in no time at all. He loved it! I found old photo's he had probably forgotten about (as they were locked away in the cupboard!) and wrote the story of his life so far. Of course some of the details were a little sketchy and some were totally made up. But he always said "don't let facts get in the way of a good story!" The book came about because I was finding it hard to buy a gift for him. He had everything. So I thought he doesn't have a book about himself, so I made him one.
After the success of this one, I thought there must be more people out there with a similar problem, what to buy someone who has everything. So that's when I started Anthologie.
